Duration: 1 Month
The resident will be provided a private room in a shared house, a shared bathroom, shared kitchen, and private studio (DIMS). Also available for use are a moderate sized garage space (inquire if interested in using this space), backyard, basic woodshop, dye studio, sewing and print-making studio, and shared home spaces including a living room and dining room. The house where the residency takes place is Breanne and Raffa’s home, and is thus a space where additional events may occur, like hosting guests or dinner parties. As a resident you will be invited to participate in these home activities, but of course are not required to. Occasionally Breanne will host bar nights in the garage and backyard space, which we will make sure any overlapping residents are aware of and consent to. Likewise, Raffa is a regular dogsitter, and often dogs will come stay in the house for periods of time.
Built in 1894, the house in Woodbridge Detroit is a historic home with many original details. It is a 3 floor house with a basement. Unfortunately it is not ADA accessible. From bottom to top it includes:
Basement - Woodshop (Breanne’s shared studio)
1st Floor - Shared living spaces, RAFFA showroom, Kitchen
2nd Floor - All bedrooms, shared bathroom, resident studio
3rd Floor - RAFFA shared sewing/printing studio and dye station

To be eligible for this residency artists must be at least 23 years old at the time of the residency and must have an established studio practice that they would like to devote this time to.
